Help got Hermie's !!
so out of all my plants (purple kush) aprox. half of them have turned hermie on me. I've got a couple grows under my belt but this is the first time I've had to deal with this. the plants are 4 1/2 weeks into flower so they only have like 3 1/2 weeks left till harvest. I had a good friend who is a more experienced grower come over and take a look at what's going on and he said that I "MAY" be able to just let them go since I'm so far allong but he was'nt totaly sure. so what do you all think I should do ? and how long dose the whole fertilization process take before seed starts to show ? also if anyone has links to info on this please post them for me to check out. oh yea I'm not totaly up on all the "stages" (if there are any) of the whole hermie thing but right now I just have "bananas" poppin up in the bud...

Help got Hermie's !!
Hey, same thing happened to me. When my bannanas poped out, the didn't look viable. The only one that got polinized was one that i kept fucking with so it dropped the pollen.
Can you pick them off w' tweezers?

Help got Hermie's !!
yea my friend also mentioned the tweezers....man that will be a major PITA if I need to do that, I have 50 plants (two medical cards worth) and I just looked again now that the lights are on and it is more like only a couple DON'T have "bananas"..
here is a pic of one of the "infected" buds. you can alomst see the bananas in this pic but but my camera dos'nt like the lighting in the room and it's realy hard to get a good pic but I thought what the hell...LOL...

What to do is, use tweezers to carefully remove the bananas, then hope not too much if any of the pollen falls. If you can get to the male bits early enough they wont even have formed pollen yet.
The second thing to do is watch for seed development, squeeze the buds a bit to see if they are forming in there, if there werent many bananas you wont get all that many seeds if u let them go the whole flower. Its a bitch to watch for male flowers everyday but to ensure mainy sensi its worth the effort.
PS Have u found the reason for your hermies?

Help got Hermie's !!
no hav'nt found any reason...the only thing I can think of is that is was in the plant already. more than likely bad supply of clones when I recieved the clones there were problems with them from the start so who knows...I honestly don't think it was/is anything that I have done that caused this.

Help got Hermie's !!
Just the thought of getting hermies on my very first grow (few weeks in) makes me sick to my stomach. I hope you get this problem fixed, and I am curious to see what other people say can be done for this problem as I may face it in the future.
Let the good times roll!!

I'm very curious to hear about this also. VERY. I will tell you why soon in my thread...
Someone tell us how long it takes to "create" the seed after pollination...
I'm sure Bear or Stinky should know...and I could probably find out doing a search, but I'm hungry, so I'll do that when I get back if we havent heard anything.
Bummer about the hermies, man. Friggin' bummer.

dude, the seeds will start forming in a couple of days. I watcvhed it hapen in mine. The bannanas that popped out late in my flower looked somewhat brown and shriveled. I think only a few had polln that worked. Are the bananas copming out of your nugs nice and green or somewhat lame looking.
The seeds start forming in a couple of days after polinization. From there the seed will start forming. I am not exactly sure how long it takes to get a mature seed developed, but surely you will have some premie seeds in t he weed. Thats what happened to mine. They had some seeds, but they were severely underdeveloped.
Heres what I'd do, and you will probably do anyway because such a large amount of your crop hit the shits.
Pick off what you can. What you see. And then just wait. Do you really wanna
