I really feel for you! Been there, done that (40 years of marriage in spite of his snoring!)Your lover needs a CPAP machine! It blows air into his nose and throat and prevents snoring! Yes, he is going to be resistant, but men who snore- especially with short sudden, breaks in their snoring- often have what is called sleep apnea. It cuts down of the amount of restful sleep a person gets, lowers their blood oxygen level, and greatly increases the chance of a heat attack! Folks with it are more depressed and, in general, have worse health. If he is even a bit overweight, get him on a diet. I've noticed that even just 10 pounds can make a difference in the level of snoring. Have HIM run a search on sleep apnea (be a bit of a bitch about it, you're trying to save his life! ). Now that my hubby has dropped about 40 pounds, his snoring is much softer, and when he does snore- I can sleep through it. (When he does start snoring regularly, I ask him if he's picking up weight. Usually the answer is "yes".) Alcohol increases snoring, I imagine pot smoking might, too. (I've seen studies on alcohol and snoring, but not pot) There were some recent articles on juvenile snoring and this is a fair start on why he should not snore! http://www.sleep-attention.com/prod01.htm My husband no longer uses the CPAP, so pitch it as a temporary fix. Take care of your man, sweetie, heaven knows, they sure don't take care of themselves!- Granny Storm Crow :stoned:
