    Yellowing leaves.. should I worry??

    Hi there,
My plants have been flowering for a little over a month. Buds are starting to look good but a lot of leaves and yellowing and like dieing.

From what I've read, leaves do yellow during flowering.. as the plants put their energy into producng bud.. correct?

One of the girls has quite a few yellow leaves already.. is this OK?

By the way I havn't really fertilized my plants mcuh so far. Gave them some Seaweed a few times when they were quite young but apart from that I've just watered them as they've been healthy enough with soil, light & water.

Advice would be appreciated.. this is my first grow.

Some lower leaves may yellow and die but it sounds like you have leaves all over the plant dying. Now when you said you haven't fertilized much then it made sense. You gotta feed your plant, bro. Get some bloom formula on those suckas, now.

dont worry m8 the leafs will yellow as the nitrogen gets used up in the plant and some of these may die and fall off
but is nowt to worry about
    cheers all

I'm in the same boat as you, and thinking it is from not feeding them. I will take some pics when they wake up 11am and post here for you to compare. I would suggest fertilizing if you can, I'm too broke. What size pots are they in? :smokin:

The leaves are yellowing from a nitrogen deficiecy (spelled wrong), and that is perfectly normal during flowering as the plant used all the nitrogen stored in the leaves, For flowering get nutes high in Potassium and Phosfurus, High Nitrogen (middle numbers) are for the vegative growth.

It is not nessicary, I belive, too not have to give your plant nutes during flowering, nutes just increase the speed and quality, and quantity etc.

It is normal of leaves to yellow in the last stages of flowering NOT halfway through it. Feed your plant, man, or else you will be disappointed in the scrawny buds that develop.

I guess your statement is true but if you don't care about the speed, quality, and quantity then why grow in the first place, just buy it and save yourself some money.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

They're in 13L pots & it's not just the bottom leaves yellowing.

My girls are sleeping now too but I'll take some photos tomorrow.

Different opinions here so I'm not sure... but if I do fertilze them, any suggestions of fertizler? what sort of N-P-K ratio would be best for flowering?

Only you know how much fertilizer you have been giving them. If you think that you haven't given them enough then that's probably the problem. It's true that in flowering you want to give more P and K and less N. This will cause leaf yellowing near the end of flowering. However, you say you are about halfway and that is too early for yellow leafs unless it's only the bottom ones.

Don't believe anyone who says you don't have to fertilize in flowering. Only if you use a properly amended organic soil can you get away without fertilizing for any length of time.

Here's some pics. Due to the light it's kinda hard to see the yellow leaves..

I picked up some Yates organic fertilizer for them today. N-P-K ratio of 3-3-6 all the others seemed to be high in Nitrogen and less Potassium and Phosfurus.
