I met my husband when I was 20 through his first cousin, who was my friend in college and thought we might hit it off. He introduced us one fall weekend when my (future) husband was in Austin to go to a Longhorns football game. I liked him at once, although I wasn't sure I liked having a boyfriend who was such a football fanatic. We dated for two years. Then got married. And have been married for nearly 24 years (and 24 football seasons).

dont take this the wrong way, but that's almost exactly how my mom and dad met. >.> you dont live in texas do you?

Met mine randomly over the 'net, then randomly at a party ... one of our first get togethers was a bunch of folks smoking an 1/8th size blunt before a Common concert. All she could do was sit on the couch and giggle. So cute ... that was 5 years ago.

Yes, we do live in Texas. But I don't think I'm your mom. Do you go to school in North Carolina? (You'd know if you were my son, I suspect. My son keeps up with my posts on these boards but wasn't a member the last time I checked.)

I met my husband next door. He had just moved from Va to Nc and I went over to say hi and we just hit it off. He proposed (sp) after six months, and then 8 months later we got married. We have been together for 4 yrs and married for 3 and I wouldnt take anything back. People said we were moving too fast and I was too young, I was 18 when we got married, but it just felt so right and im glad no one could talk me out of it.

i have generally only met people thru high school (im outta high school now), with two exceptions. i met one at a summer camp, and the other camping in the summer. lol.

i met my husband when he was 13. he was best friends with my boyfriend at the time...where i live, (for some reason idk LOL) the girls that were seniors would date freshmen guys (idfk it was weird) and i was going out with this guy named willie (who was my best friends lil bro). anyways....i was over at willies house hanging out (i had spent the night w/his sis the night before) and i woke up and went to the living room, and there he was, blowing on a gas valve in my boyfriends living room, and i said "are you gonna blow that all day?" ( i was the queen of sarcasm LOL)

and once, when he and willie had come over to my house, i saw that he had a badass bike (i believe it was a GT Dyno but dont quote me) and i told him i was gonna kill him and take his bike.

didn't really see him again until yet another ex of mine, kevin (who was friends w/my husband and the ex-bf-willie) was living at his house. i went over to visit kevin, and he'd told me "my friend really likes you". i thought he was joking though. and then to mess w/my husbands mind...i thought i'd test the "he likes you" theory...by slinking up him and making a growley noise (dont ask)...so i do this, and he hops up and runs outside and begins chasing a cat w/a piece of PVC pipe.

flash fwd a few years...i rode my bike over to his side of town, tried to visit him....(we'd had a phone convo and i realized i kinda liked him) and he wouldn't wake up. he'd gotten FUBAR'd the night before and thought i was his friend trying to wake him up and told me "if you dont leave i'll have my grandma make you leave" LOL...so i left and went to this friends house one street over.

so i enlisted in the navy, and that didn't work out (12 days...w00t!) and i was back here in our hometown. i got a call from my best friend (willie's sister) saying that my now-husband had been looking for me and he's like totally in love with me or w/e...so i got in touch with him....my parents were about to move outta state, and i wasn't about to pass up a chance at actual love, so we concocted the brilliant plan of "if we get married we wouldn't have to lose each other" like i said...brilliant....LOL.

so after 2 whopping days of "lets be bf/gf" i moved into his house...we were engaged for 11 months, and then we split up and went our separate ways.

then in dec. of 2003, we started talking again. by this time i was in arkansas w/my family...he proposed on christmas day of that year, and by jan. 8th i was back in texas. we got married jan. 20th of 2004, and had our son in december of the same year....been goin strong ever since....

oh yeah...btw when we got married he was 18 and i was 22 :thumbsup:
