Everyone loves a FREAK... the mutant thread!
Hey all!
I have a couple oddballs in the garden that I'd like to share with you. I hate my camera. These are all fairly common mutations you will see if you grow long enough. The one I never got a good pic of is partial albinism, so if anyone has one to share, by all means, do!
#1: It's a White Rhino about a 3 weeks to a month from seed... Self topped early... Not from pinching or damage or stress, it just split.
#2: This is a Purple Star plant about the same age. It started out with whorled phytolaxy, 3 cotyledons, 3 blade leaves, then some weird leaves, but it's growing out of it as you can sort of see.
#3: My favorite!!! This is an unknown strain that I cloned while in flower. The clone survived but was then attacked by thrips and almost croaked. I bug-bombed and put her under a weaker light to get back to health, and then I noticed what looked like a DIFFERENT KIND OF PLANT growing up and through her. I thought it was a garden weed that rode in with my hot peppers. So yesterday I went to yank it, and discovered it had no stem of its own, but is actually a sport growing from the female bud! And best of all, it has calyxes on it already. So I'm going to leave her to see how long it takes to revert to normal growth.
You can barely see, but the leaves of the odd shoot on that last have absolutely no hints of any serrations.stinkyattic Reviewed by stinkyattic on . Everyone loves a FREAK... the mutant thread! Hey, Stinky. Just found this thread. I don't spend enough time in the Lounge. You know I got at least 1 or 2 mutant pics I can put up. I rembember one from early veg and then of course the "three-headed monster" one that will be harvested in this next update. I'll try to round 'em up and post them on. Good thread.
I'm :stoned:

Nice freaks. <G>
Last season I started 12/12 to sex the plants, waiting until flowers showed and went back to 18/6 for a week or two before planting outdoors in the first of June. Many wierd anomalies. The single smooth leaves (one plant stayed like that right through the summer and through maturity). A couple of self topping plants too.
I have one whorled phytolaxy this season too. Here's an early pic of it.

I had a nice one going 2005 in a bucket on a sunporch but killed it with polluted water from a fishtank.
