I worked on the set of the movie flakes (not yet out). I was a production asst. and drove the actors around, blocked off traffic, found extras, made fake vomit. It was a very fun experience. If you are interessted I know UNO has a VERY GOOD film school.

If you ever get serious about writing screenplays get a program called final draft. It formats everything automatically and makes your life so much easier.

If you are thinking about editing and film making I would suggest you get a Mac along with Final Cut Pro. The full program costs about 600 plus dollars though. So I wouldn't suggest it unless you are serious.

If you are interessted and live in an area where movies are sometimes shot, check into a PA postion. They aren't hard to get if it is a low budget or indie film. But you also won't get paid either.

I tried working on Dukes of Hazzard for 150 dollars a day but didn't have any luck with that.

It is fun, if you are interessted and are in college or will be soon, get a job at the tv station there. There are also a lot of student film makers on college campuses. If you are in highschool, ask for a decent camera for Christmas and start filming short films with your buddy. They don't have to be amazing, just get experience with it and let your imagination get some excercise.
