    crash course

ive been smoking since i was bout 14, 20 now so thats a good 6 years, basically ive been smoking weed, no special fancy strains or anything like that, lately ive had a little more money to spend, a little more spare time to smoke, so ive stopped going to highschool dealers, and started with higher class people, better shit, bigger buys and much better prices, ive also smoked some strain named recently, my favourite so far is called Red Dragon.

before i goto the cup and get exposed to the best shit in the world id like a crash course in strains. what exactly is an indica or a sativa or an afghani? how do i tell the difference between strains, when im inspecting quality weed what are the signs i should look for before smoking?

dude, just becuase a dealer says some name, don't mean it's real... matter of fact unless he's a grower, there's probably more than an 80% chance it's just a made up name.. just so you know.

    oh yeah

indica - really heavy body stone, couch lock high ect ect. (don't quote me on this part, i may have them mixed up, but they also tend to be shorter plants with fatter fan leaves)

sativa - head high, gives you alot of energy (like i said, i may have them mixed up, taller stalkier plant, thinner fan leaves)

you should also note, atleast what i hear from here, it's really hard (if not damn near impossible) to get either pure, i.e. you'll either have bud that's primarily indica wtih some sativa in it, or vice versa)

You got them perfect. Everything in Slipknot's post is right.

It is very hard to find a pure strain, these are normally called landrace strains. Pure indicas are hard to find, but easier than pure sativas.

There are thousands and thousands of readily avaliable strain to grow from clone or seed, although there are thousands more that people have crossed with their own personal grows, like me. I have my own strain. Arnt i lucky lol.

Almost all strains are crosses of indica or sativa, giving differnt highs and differnt tastes.

Theres nothing to really look out for, as bud can look shit and be good or it can look great and be shit. Too many people focus on the trichomes, and while these normally contain the highest amounts of THC and other active cannabinoids, they dont always guarentee a great high.

There are 3 species of cannabis. Cannabis sativa with the head high, cannabis indica with the body stone and one that not many people talk about it cannabis ruderalis, which basically means the plant flowers by it's age and not by it's light cycle.
