yank slang

okay ive been reading these forums alot lately but as an aussie i dont understand much of yank slang, can someone explain some of the terms to me, coz we use a whole different bunch of words than u guys do, the common words like jay, bud,etc. i get, i think we both use roach, but it seems like you guys are reffering to something else than what we refer to when we say roach, also wtf is shake?

roach= burned down end of a joint

shake=broken down loose bits of weed that falls off the nugs in the sack

and dont call me a yank im from the south
