Thanks gentlefolk, for your advice- but is there any hope for the ungerminated seeds I plucked from the soil? They aren't squishy or anything; they look normal. If I keep them in a glass of warm water covered and dark, is it possible they might still sprout? How long should I give them before pulling the plug?

My babies are in the basement, so will it still be okay to remove the heat pad- it gets a little chilly down there, and I have two fans blowing (the stems are shaking a little, that's not too strong is it?) Am I too rough?

When do I need to move them to pots? They are currently in one of those
seed trays with individual 1 inch holes. What is the best size pot for their first transplant?

Sorry for all the questions, but I don't want to do more harm. I already bonked my largest seedling with the watering can, but it didn't break or anything and is doing fine.
