lungsMarijuana smoke adds onto the tar you have on your lungs and can increase the risk of bronchitis or what ever your lungs are vulnerable to. Unfortunately for people like me, I obviously don't have lungs that are as strong as most because I obviously have bronchitis. It's not a paranoia thing either, I haven't gone to the doctor for them to tell me but I have all the symptoms and I'm not really in denial so I accept that as being my problem. I will eventually go to the doctor though..honestly.

lungsIt builds up tar on the lining of the lungs. People who hold their hits are morons who dont listen to fact, as they are building up tar quicker than if they were to smoke properly.

THC cannot prevent cancer, although, in a study of 64000 people scientists found no direct link between extremely heavey cannabis use and any form of cancer, including lung cancer.

Also, THC kills free radicals [which are bad bad things] which can help preveny skin cancer, but as far as cancer goes, your never safe, EVER. People who dont smoke a single thing in their whole lives can get it.

Personally i smoke up to 40 cigs a day and over 10 joints a day. I know that im probably going to get cancer, and i've just about prepared myself for it.

lungsFirst off, in spite of what Lip says (luv ya anyway, Lip!), get a vaporizer- they are very easy on the lungs. As to lung cancer- read this, an oldie but goodie- http://www.erowid.org/plants/cannabi...i_1_text.shtml
You might just run a search on cannabis, lung cancer, abstract. You'll get loads of articles!- Granny Storm Crow:stoned:\"If the truth won\'t do, then something is wrong!\"

Vapes are good, i have no doubt about them.

But to me, they're only good for personal use, not in a group. I guess i just like the smoke rofl.

lungsWe all have to remember that life isn’t as simple as

Cigarettes have tar… tar causes cancer…people who smoke get cancer.

If this were true we would see the same rates of cancer in heavy cannabis smokers as in cig smokers! But we do not

several things working together to produce such high rates of lung cancer in smokers

For example, cigg. Smoke has tar in it that deposits itself in the lungs. Also, cig smoke paralyzes the cilia which clean the lungs (for about 45 min I believe)
-This is important, since smokers smoke so often their cilia are paralyzed almost their entire life. Thus cannot remove much, unlike most cannabis smokers, who on average smoke less than once a day. This gives you lungs time to clean out.

Then once nicotine is in your blood it causes restriction of blood vessels. Lowering blood flow. To everything.
-so now your pumping less blood to your lungs so they can’t heal properly.

And, as your smoking carbon monoxide enters your blood and competes for the bonding cite on hemoglobin. Thus lower the amount of oxygen your blood can carry.
-now couple: lower blood flow, with lower oxygen levels in the blood. And the increasing heart rate to feed the body, yet starving the heart of oxygen. You get heart disease. And the lungs cant heal them selves well either, with such low oxygen

-blood flow and healing are very related, this is the principle behind lots of physiotherapy

As well a very important finding from Cuba:
-a large study between cig smokers and smokers who smoked both cigs and cannabis found a decrease in the rate of cancer in people who smoked both. Even though more smoke entered their lungs. Hmmm I guess it’s even more complicated.

-It could be because agents in cannabis dilate blood vessels and increase blood flow. Allowing for the healing of blood.

Oh and free radicals can cause cancer in ANY cell. Not just skin. In fact most skin cancers are caused from UV light, which isn’t related to free radicals in the blood stream. Although the UV light creates free radicals inside the nucleus

lungsWell, if i were you man i wouldnt. 95% of THC is abosrbed instantly by the lungs, no one can argue with that as it's fact. So, you have the other 5% still there. A natural breath is about 3 seconds, so in that 3 seconds all the THC is absorbed. Holding the smoke longer gives the carciogens time to absorb, and any tar time to stick to the lungs. This is a badddd thing.

Basically, when your smoking your getting less oxygen to your brain, but if you start holding hit#s it's the same as holding your breath, so in reality your not getting higher, it's just getting you light headed from oxygen depravation, OR it could be a placebo, but either way, holding hit's is bad for you, and it doesnt get you much higher at all.

Smoking anything is bad, period. But holding hit's is only making it worse.

Some people like the light headed feeling though, so it's personal preferance.

But try it like i suggested, and see. You might be surprised lol. But if not, i'd seriously NEVER hold a hit for more than 10 seconds, cos then it's getting dangerous, i mean, our lungs arnt meant for smoke. Holding smoke down there is asking for touble.

 Hope this helps.
