The way I do it like I just did again tonight (dry night). I take my lighter and slowly heat up the pipe, then I take a paper clip or q-tip and go through the pipe, I then cover the choke and blow out the bowl, all the resin flys out the mouth piece, and I simply let it collect in a bag. Works, sometimes you need to do it three times to get it all out. I dont mind smokin resin, cause the last week and a half Ive blown about a ounce of strawberry cough through this. Here's the catch, every time I see a guide on how to clean resin into a sweet smokable ball, its always about boiling it.
