Ebb flow questions
Hey all!
I have some ebb flow table and have some questions.
- Should I be using netted puts with hydrotron pellets inside? The guy at the hydro store says he does this with bricks ontop and it keeps his plants up. I like the flexibility of being able to move the pots around the table.
- I find that flooding can be done 3 times a day or 6 times a day and the plants don't mind either way. I have males that I pulled out (pre-flower) and it's been 2 days and they still aren't that wilted being out of the table. Here's the question: If I move to 3 times a day vs. 6, will my PH rise up slower?
- On a couple of plants i'm getting algea on the roots. I have not covered the table because some people said that they don't bother and the algea is harmless. I'm afraid of root rot and losing my crop. Should I be covering the table?
- Should I be adding H202 to the res? I heard that this is should be used for flood tables and DWC to prevent root rot.
- I do have small puddles at the bottom of the flood table that the roots are spilling into. I'm currently using closed 4" square pots and the plants are a foot tall. The veg tables are rubber made containters with lids upside down and works well except for that one problem.

Alot of its preference I believe... Like you were saying about moving them around and all, thats why I chose the method. I start mine in a top feed and move them to flood and drain table. Havent goten to the flower part yet but its obvious whats easier to me. When I move to the flood table I will also fill it with hydroton too... Just idea of keeping the majority in one basket isnt a bad idea IMO and you cant go wrong. Click my sig if you want to see some baskets in my get up...
My table isnt covered and I just spent half a day cleaning it... It had algea on it too. Didnt have algea on the roots though
Good luck probably someone else can help you with the rest of your questions becuase I simply dont know.
Good luck
