Help with Mogul socket!

Hi all, i recently bought a mogul socket for my 400W hps, the only problem is that i dont know how to wire it. I have looked on the net and have only found instructions saying "connect the white wire to white, and the black wire to black." Now the problem with this is that my mogul socket doesnt have any black or white wires coming from it, it just has "screw terminals" So how do i go about connecting to the "screw terminals" on my mogul socket? The cord coming from the ballast has a white, black, and green wire, im guessing the green one is to ground it. On the socket one of the screw terminals is gold and one is silver. Can anyone give me some help with this? Thanks.

hey, i just managed to get back on today. So im gonna unscrew the screws a little and wrap the bare wire around the thin part of the screw, and then screw it back in so that the head of the screw is holding the wire down? Thanks for the help so far, thats essentially what i needed to know. time to go smoke some weed:thumbsup: oh yea, what is "the hood" is that the 3rd screw on the mogul socket? i just want to get this right, i dont really feel like burning my house down and sleeping outside.

the hood is your hood/reflector. a big white or silver thing that spreads and directs light. normally you have the socket on the inside of your hood.

whatsup, actually the funny thing is that i still havnt wired it and i was gonna look up this thread again but you refreshed it. so saves me time, anyways thx for the clarification.:rasta:
