I do it all the time and my computer is fine. It won't let me put the file on my computer if it detects a virus. Depends on your virus software though...I have Symantec Antivirus...who I think is made by Norton...and it updates itself all the time.

    quick question

It's not a huge risk, but when the virus software needs updating, update it and let it do its thing. If you ignore the updates, your computer will slow down.

I download all the time from Limewire and my comp. runs fine. I use Trend Micro-PC-cillin and it does auto updates and cleans my computer daily of any harmful things that come up. It catches things all the time, so it works just fine.

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

    quick question

...You have to run it to check for viruses though. Some have protection (lol) and may auto-run and scan your PC, but not all.

Useful Tip: Norton SUCKS. Especially when combined with McAfee, since one uses the front end file of a virus, and the other the back end, install both and you will have the full blown virus on your computer.
