Couple simple questions...
I'm on my new grow, about 10 days through veg state under two cool white CFLs (the 150 watt equivs). The box is 1.1 sq feet, and is covered on the inside with 1 mm mylar.
Anyway, the plants are about 2" high now, and 2/4 have begun third leaf nodes.
1) The first leaves are looking a little yellowish around the brim of the leaves. Ideas?
2) I'm watering them until the soil is damp once a day with tap water left to sit out for 24 hours. The containers they are in drain excess water out the bottom. Is this enough?
3) The humidity in the grow box is about 30%... Is this okay?
4) What soil do you guys use? I was running out of time for soil (germinated seeds and no soil) so I grabbed some from a potted plant that had been ditched a while ago, the soil seemed damp and rich.Taiden Reviewed by Taiden on . Couple simple questions...
I think that is too much watering which accounts for the yellowing - only a guess but I'm betting they are somewhat stunted too? I only know because I've done it myself - and things didn't improve until I only watered small amounts a couple times a week or once a week after they were in 6" pots.
I just read an old post of GK's where the plants were only watered once a week from seedlings...they were in bigger pots but were flooded with a gallon each time...the plants were huge in two weeks...looked like mine at 3 weeks or a month.

Whats the ph of the tap water your using. 30% is real low from what I read around 50-60% for vegging. You should get some regular/blank potting soil and some perlite for drainage. The ph of your water should be somewhere between 6.3-6.8. Well thats what I keep mine at. You should also get some nutrients because your going to need them. I would go with the fox farms brand if you have access to a hydro store or you can order it online. good luck with everything

Are they the small, round leaves. If so then it's ok.
You don't need to water every day. Only water when the pot is dry, and water till it runs out the bottom. So, drainage is good. You don't need to leave your water sit 24 hours.
Humidity is fine.
I use ProMix.

I know that myth is perpetuated by alot of people who have never tried it themselves. I've used RO water as well and there was no difference except in cost. I don't have to tell you which one was more money. So, do what you want.

I will stop watering them for a while... they are getting yellow leaves and are stunted... I'm gonna wait until the soil is BONE dry before i flood them. i had been flooding them about 1 time every 1-2 days.
