I didn't want to post anything until I had it going a while, but I made a worm box back when I started the tubgirls project. I used a kitty litter bucket, cut drainage holes in the bottom, and filled it halfway with syrofoam chunks. I then shredded some newspaper into strips, and covered the styro w/ ~0.5" of shredded paper strips. Then I threw in about 2 cups of soil, and a dozen "dew worms" (earthorms) from the bait store. I simply threw the worms on top of the dirt. I mist it a few times a day with my plant mister. There is no odour I (or my visitors) can detect.
I throw in used tea leaves, used coffee grounds, vegetable trim, anything that's vegetable matter.
Then, next grow, I simply move most of the worms to a new bucket, and transplant sprouts into the "old" worm farm full of worm castings, refuse, & a few worms, and so on.Volker Reviewed by Volker on . I think I will do this to deal with my pruning vegetation.
Good weed comes from happy plants..and happy plants come from CALIFORNIA

you know how stoners operate...
1. get an idea
2. act upon your idea
3. re-consider what you already did
4. go eat something
5. wish you weren\'t so stoned so you could talk to the girl behind the counter at starbucks
6. smoke more weed
7. start at #1 again

Nice idea to use the old bucket as the pot for the new grow. If I were you, though, I would ask your baitshop owner if he can get a worm called 'red wiggler'. It will compost alot faster than the common dew worm. The owner will probably know where to order some even if he doesn't carry them.
You could get several buckets going and plant a couple of clones in each one. You probably wouldn't have to fert till flowering.

This worm farm is just the next step in this process, I think. Athough I may be asking for trouble making my own "fertilizer" outta "garbage" in buckets... we'll see. But it seems like it a "duh!" thing, like using aquarium gradoo from yer partial water changes to water yer plants.I am currently not on air.
