Hi,

Very true about the cannabinoid receptors. CB1 is the type of receptor that regulates hunger. Blocking it with a selective CB1 receptor antagonist such as remonibant causes people to lose weight. (Wonder if it would block the feeling of euphoria also??!!??) CB1 antagonists are being trialed to see if they can reduce central obesity and cut the risk of diabetes developing in overweight people and hence lessen the problems associated with metabolic syndrome.

Peace, love and all that mumbo ...

Well, I had been reading that it was because the Cannabinoid receptors aren't active yet. Well, that isn't true. We have the cannabinoid receptors because we have endocannabinoids that use these receptors. THC just happens to be an agonist of these molecules. These receptors are always active due the fact that endocannabinoids are important in regulation of important bodily functions. THC binding to these receptors don't need a Rating: 5
