In the papers, studies and news stories that I've read, marijuana smoke was indeed found to contain more tar and carcinogens than cigarette smoke. Yet it wasn't associated with an increased risk of lung cancer--or of head or neck cancer, either. The reason why not? The THC and cannabadiol (and other cannabinoids, most likely, too) have a remarkable cancer-suppressing ability that keeps the risk for those cancers at a much lower rate.

This all doesn't yet mean that smoking weed is good. It is still not great for people's lungs to smoke, and there are strong indications it's not beneficial, especially soon after smoking, for heart health or oxygen levels. But THC and the other cannabinoids have really promising powers that need to be further explored and exploited.

Which are continuing to be hidden and pushed away by the government. These powers are very much obvious to our government, and they can't stand not being able to have complete control over something...as you can see the mass encouragement to spend $500-800 a month for synthetic THC(marinol) they've patented and can easily replicate..yet THC is only one of at least 60 therapeutic compounds found in smoked cannabis..people like abovetheinfluence I have no respect for. Ignorance is something I cannot tolerate, and if anything exhibits an extreme amount of ignorance, it is our nation's marijuana policy..We need to inform the people!

Okay, so I again sent abovetheinfluence.com an email telling them that their fact stating that "one marijuana cigarettes contains up to four times the cancer causing tars as one cigarette" but it being research from 1988. I stumbled upon a report on msnbc.com citing research performed by the American Thoracic Society that had concluded marijuana has no link to cancer. I sent the email, and I get home today and go to look at that article again and it has been removed. You can obviously Rating: 5
