Around here (NorCal), if you plant seeds in late March/early April, youll end up with trees that are capable of producing a pound a plant in September/October if the temps are good and there is a LOT of sun. In fact, the guy who taught me to grow indoor did many experiments and found he actually could on an average, get MORE off a plant that was planted in April then in January or Febuary. Im sure this depends on the light cycle your area has at that time. He used semi-established clones (rooted in 1/2 gallon pots), planted in early April, harvested in early October. Averages out to a little over 20 pounds per 24 plants. 3 foot deep holes that are 3 feet wide but he really turns the earth around the site too and the surounding soil is pretty good, not nasty and dry. He also uses nutrients 6 times a year (a wide variety of organic stuff I can never keep track of).

Oh, and they were tied down enough to spread them out and get light through the whole plant, which end up around 5-6 feet tall.
