how to achive the 1lbs a plant?

Actually you'll do better with a evenly split cross of sativa and indica. Indicas are what really pack on wait and thick colas.

kusk07, i agree with you, the genetics i have planned right now are lacking, i tried twice to order from a (well know) seed bank, once with custom siezure letter and the second just never came....so i figured i will just try with the girls i have now and hope for the best., and i also did plan on low stress training and topping a few.

kindprincess-if i ever get a 'super big 15 ft. sativa' ill be sure to remeber and take a picture for ya

crazychris-be sure to cover your chest and head.....i was out tonight at an outside bar and just coudnt take the cold weather (just recovering from a nasty cold)

oh kust07, what kind of sativa/indica would you recommend...out of curiosity?

take her easy yall:thumbsup: (little texas for ya)

Yes, go for the sativa. We have the growing season to do it properly. But yeah, it was like 80 yesterday here too, then i woke up to ice on my steps.

if you are using clones you might not want to put them outdoors as early as march you would probably be better off waiting till mid april as the dark hours in march might actually be long enough to confuse the plant into starting flowering and then have to reveg as the dark hours decrease, wich actually slows its growth as it reverts back to a veg state.
might take clones around late feb to early march and veg indoors for a month then move them outdoors while you could start earlier if you wish but dont think it would help your plants to yield much more, think genetics and growing conditions will play a more improtant role in yield per plant.

Haha, yeah, i forgot about light cycle. I was just thinking off temperature, down here it gets warm early. Yeah, something like the spring equinox or something is when farmers plant by or something. Thanks for that bejay

Around here (NorCal), if you plant seeds in late March/early April, youll end up with trees that are capable of producing a pound a plant in September/October if the temps are good and there is a LOT of sun. In fact, the guy who taught me to grow indoor did many experiments and found he actually could on an average, get MORE off a plant that was planted in April then in January or Febuary. Im sure this depends on the light cycle your area has at that time. He used semi-established clones (rooted in 1/2 gallon pots), planted in early April, harvested in early October. Averages out to a little over 20 pounds per 24 plants. 3 foot deep holes that are 3 feet wide but he really turns the earth around the site too and the surounding soil is pretty good, not nasty and dry. He also uses nutrients 6 times a year (a wide variety of organic stuff I can never keep track of).

Oh, and they were tied down enough to spread them out and get light through the whole plant, which end up around 5-6 feet tall.

i want one too, but, alas... no more room in the closet

    love, kp

my first ever plant i harvested recently was 15ft tall, i guess i got lucky. when it was all said and done i had 4 large tupperware jars of erb. i mean u could fit a basketball in one of these jars. the only problem was that the buds were thin and after they were dried it became even smaller. fortunately some of the buds did produce seeds. good genetics for next grow.

Growing a pure sativa will more than likely not achieve the yeild he is looking for like phillykid described. He'll need a balanced hybrid, maybe a little more on the sativa side but will definitely need those indica genetics in there to make that 1lb mark easily achievable.

Glad to know where on the same page keeko. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Like I said earilier Chronic and Bubblegum from Serious are known to be very heavy yeildiers. Chronic has been named commercial plant of the year for a couple times now. Some classic heavy outdoor yeildiers are Skunk #1 and Durban Poison x Skunk #1. Some other good choices would be, Martian Mean Green and Recon from DNA. Guerillas Gusto from Sensi Seed would be another good bet. And Subcool/ TGA's Big foot or Space Queen F2's which are freebies if you order the Big Foot. Best of luck

    Happy Toking :rasta:

One more thing, concentrate on digging your holes deeper than wider. Just like in indoors, we don't use container that are shallow and wide, we use deep containers that are semi-wide e.g. the popular 5 gallon bucket. This is because cannabis roots first grow down to the bottom to test there boundries and then grow out to the sides.
