    400w HPS cloest dimensions???.....

    i have a closet i was gonna use for my second go around, and it is 7ftW x 3 1/2ft deep x 8ft H (at highest point, ceiling slopes---5 1/2ft bein lowest point) and i was thinkin bout usin a 400w HPS conversion( found one online for $169 includes 400w hps ballast, 400w hps bulb, n 400w mh conversion bulb, and timer...ready out of tha box) thought it was a good deal...... and i was wondering if it would b ok inside that size of closet without having to have a vent system....maybe jus vent by openin the closet door???????????(will b spendin very, very much time inside) thnx for all and ne info

    The right quick answer is that it probably going to be difficult without ventilation. 400w can get warm.

    with the door open it will be fine for the most part. but will loose light that you would want to reflect back to your plants. with it closed. yea it will need a little ventilation. but not to much with how big your closet is

    well how much of the area do you plan on using? 4x4 is recomended for 400wtts and i would agree with it. u cannot just leave your door open, very bad idea. That light is blinding bright and will surely be noticable, not to mention you would have to remeber to leave it open or risk killing your crop. I dunno you can surely put in some ventilation, be inventive. You could even post a pic of the grow area and maybe some of us can help out with ideas.

    400w HPS cloest dimensions???.....

    I got a PL 400 HPS in a 4X4X4 Box with a 50cfm bathroom fan for exhaust. Even with a passive intake the highest temps been 81...
