Passion #1 (Amstel Gold) is an Indica variety developed in California in the seventies, and has been grown outdoors in Holland since 1980. Smokes soft with a citrus-like aroma and has a good high. Easy to grow, grows with long compact resinous buds. One of the best green outdoor varieties worldwide.

    Outdoor harvest time: September.

The numbering scale used below is on 1-10. Ten being optimal.

I grew Passion #1 for my first indoor grow.

Had very little trouble, even though I'm sure I made errors. Like over fertilization, over watering, high temps, etc.

I was very happy with the way Passion #1 survived my errors.

Once ready for chop, (42 days), I dried the bud. Once dried, I placed bud in glass jars, opening weekly to check progress.

The taste got better after about 3 weeks.

I have grown this strain outdoors for some years. The reason, it is very easy to grow outdoors. Never had mold.

I liked it. Seedlings were weak, but the one P #1 I kept stayed small and produced suprisingly thick buds considering its lankiness. It was a great looking plant in the backyard, though grown guerilla style its results were varied I've heard, and may be better given constant care. Smoke was good, taste is good. What I like most about this strain is the smell of the buds, skunked out pine, and the look of the buds, bright green and damn crystally.

    Vintage: July,

I was very surprised to see that this variety grew high and long with quite a long space between leaves. It matured very quickly and the buds are long and thin with very little if no smell.
The plant was easy to grow but looks NOTHING like the picture on the Dutch Passion website, as has been the case with other varieties of theirs that I have tired.
To be honest I would not grow this again or any of Dutch Passions stock and found then unhelpful when contacted.
The only good thing about this variety is the stone, it's a knockout but not good if you need a little money, definitely not a cashcrop..
The buds have many hairs and few leaves and I found that against the skink varieties it was poor in yeild.
In the final analysis I would not grow this again and I am very wary fo ANY of Dutch Passions claims for their products.

Grown in pots in an open garden in England. Grown in John Innes no 3 soil in natural light outdoors.
I used superthrive while in vegetation and Cellmax total earth bloom when flowering.
The soil was a mix of John Innes no 3 plus 3 cups vermiculite, 2 cups perlite and 4 cups of home sand.
    Watered daily at night.
