    HEALTH WARNING

yeah im with LIP...i dont know what you lot are getting but my dealer sure as hell doesent put broken glass in his weed. I have heard rumours of this, and as far as i know the gritty substance is a residue left over from a product used in the bud curing process, which has the side effect of adding extra weight. I think brick dust, sand and broken glass is a little far fetched. Why would dealers want their customers to die...not really very good business sense.

if you want to stay niave then fine and lip not everyone has access to a grower far from it in fact.

why don't you tell me what the residue is that is used in the curing process!?

glass is rarely used but stuff like scillia sand and ground up grit is used alot which can cause serious health problems in the long term.
And this is all thanks to our wonderfull fucking government and crackdown on cannabis factories and the new evil drug called 'skunk'

Yes, well our government dont care about us, at all. They couldnt give a shit.

But sand doesnt burn, neither does glass, no that those temps, it's not hot enough, AND glass is just sand. So, what are the health risks from smoking something that doesnt burn? Killer poison on the sand?

I dont think it's anything to worry about, as long as you shake it. Im not saying it's right though, they need to let it cure natually and stop being such greedty little cunts.

But if it pisses you of that much, find a grower [which isnt as hard as you make it out to be] or grow your own, it's easy as fook and you can get it for almost nothing. A CFL grow from start to finish will cost hardly anything, wont even put a dent in your electric bill, and the pots and soil hardly cost a alot and there's always cheap ferts... but hey, why no go organic, let it go natural.

    Enjoy.

I think he's talking about inhaling the shit. That's NOT good for your lungs (If you think about the early miners who would inhale sand and rock dust as they worked, alot of them got lung infections and diseases. Sand is abrasive, and will damage).

I guess if you smoked it through a bong, that would fix most of that problem, but still, it's a principle thing.

this is why weed needs to be legalized and regulated. that and all the crime it generates from shady dealers. the leaders of the world need to wake up and see that people are not going to stop smoking cannabis. i seriously think the only reason its still illegal is because it would put a lot of pharmicudical companies out of b'iness because weed is such and easily obtainable form of medication. fuck that. they dont give a shit about the countless lives they ruin, theyre just in it for $$$$$. same with those bitch ass dealers, who wouldnt even be dealers if cannabis were legal, so i guess we can pin all of this on the govt. fuck them.

Ummm, I'm not sure that that would cause that huge of a problem, certainly not something that comes out in 15 years and kills you in 6 months. That just sounds silly. Most likely, the sand (which can only burn/melt/liquify under INTENSE temps, like, lightening) would just cause you to cough if you actually inhaled it. Most of it probably wouldn't even get that far, as it would get stuck on your mucous (that's the point of it). At the very worst, it could make tiny cuts in your trachea or lungs. But that would likely only cause infection in people with compromised immune systems. Broken glass would likely be very noticable, so it would be neglible in this "problem."

Quick fix? Inspect your weed before you smoke it! If you're really worried, get a magnifiying glass or whatever...

The quartz mentioned in the article would be found in most weed with sand in it. Obviously there are some health risks from inhaling it, I don't think cancer is to far fetched. Y'all would be suprise what google can turn up by typing in a few simple words.

It should be noted this sand is often used in the making of glass. It may help to brush off your weed, but you can't say there aren't potential health risks associated with it.

I never really said that it wasn't completely not dangerous. I just was stating that the original poster's description of the 15 year thing and the 6 month thing was a bit ridiculous. Smoking anything or inhaling lots of any kind of smoke can potentially lead to cancer. Combusted hydrocarbons are a bitch. I also was just pointing out that actually completely inhaling these particles would be a little harder than you think, your body is made to prevent relatively large particles from getting inside. So, yeah.
