How to smoke from a bong? ...Confused

Have you ever stuck your straw in a glass of water and blown? You get bubbles, right? This is basically the same principal. You are sucking the top to pull the smoke through the water.

Think of the bowl as the straw, and instead of blowing into it, you are sucking the other end to get the same effect.

lol you need a bowl and a stem to go into the water man lol, the bowl doesnt touch the water its a stem that can fit your bowl in it and the stem goes into the bottom of the bong and the smoke comes from the bowl through the water up the chamber and into your mouth :thumbsup:

i personally light the bowl, pull(inhale) untill the entire bong is filled with smoke(cant see through it)...take my mouth of but immediately cover the top with my hand. i then exhale fully, put my mouth back on, pull the stem and bowl out and rip away till its clear...

This is the proper way to hit a bong. Generally for a large bong.

This actually isn't a stupid question. I have let so many people hit my 2ft bong and they always do it wrong


it takes two breaths on big bongs
1) breath in and fill the bong with smoke. You are setting up the hit
(no smoke in lungs yet)
2) remove mouth breath out
3) pull out bowl, or remove finger from carb
4) breath in again as fast as possible (smoke enters lungs)

this is the best way to hit a big bong.

most of the descriptions above only work for small bongs. they are just using the technique for hitting a bubbler or pipe on a bong. And it works for small ones

I think thats the n00b way of smoking. I can fill and clear my 3 foot green monster in one hit.

i find it to be more hard hitting....i can fill and clear almost every bong ive ran in to(nothing bigger than 80cm) with one full breath...but if i fill the bong, take a deep breath and fully exhale to clear my lungs, the bong hit just goes in better for me.it almost feels like it goes deeper in to my lungs and i can feel it better.

i'm sure you can. but no one can fill and clear a bong with over a 3L capacity.
it is impossible unless your lung capacity exceeds 6L which isn't common.

it is actually very difficult to smoke my bong even using this method as it's volume is very large. 2ft with a D of =2 inch-7inch

I dont think there are noob ways and pro ways. I have found this to be the most effective way (dosn't loose smoke/dosn't let it go stale/you get nice thick smoke,) to hit a large bong. And with my bong Iâ??ve never seen anyone take an entire hit any other way.

IF you can clear a bong without using it, then good on you. but remember you want to always inhale an amount of pure air after the it so the smoke isn't in your esophagus and bronchial tubes.
