Yeah i play bass, i been playing for ages, was in a band for 4 years, we just did a chairty gig the other week as a reunion gig. Last time i'll be speaking with our mangement team. I dont know any sites sorry, do a google.

People think bass is easy, but belive me it aint. Depends what your playing, but to keep your fingers going on a stupidly fast bass line is killer, you get real nad cramps and that, when my band recorded we played one song over and over again all day, and my fingers started spazing out and i couldnt play any more. As soon as i picked up the bass my fingers would curl up lol.

hey hey i've played bass for 10 years now i think starting on those big stand up violen types. If you've been playing guitar you should allready know all your major and minors and then there just same on bass right well the lower 4 strings are the exact same as what you've used on your quitar so the paterns are all the same. I have this book that shows me all the harmonic and melodic version of the scales it was really cheap but i'm sure you could find those online.

    http://www.mxtabs.net/basstabs.php

thats the site i use have all the tabs you could ever want plus cool little leason's on techniques like slaping and tapping.

My roommate says: you should check out a band called rush. All of the players are amazing. and yeah victor wooten is the BEST bassist other than jaco pastorious (because he invented the solo bass stuff). check out classical thump for some crazy wooten slapping or punk jazz for some crazy ass stuff from jaco. search for the band "weather report" to find punk jazz
