Be careful that your tobacco pipe doesn't have a filter in it... I've found out that some of them do.

i used to smoke out of a wooden tobacco pipe, had a really nice meerschaum too. i used a clean faucet aerator as a screen to lift the weed up from the bottom of the bowl.
we called it the magic pipe 'cause in desperate times there always seemed to be another hit in it. a tad nasty at times but another hit none the less.

i've had one with a deeper bowl than that (holds about 1.2g's). its good for parties when 6+ ppl are hitting it. but if you just got a lil bit of weed to pack in it dont even bother. i hated using mine so much i gave it away. the bowl was too deep to ligh twith a bic and the hole that goes to your mouth was too skinny to give big hits.
