"Donating" Plasma
Alright, me and a couple of my friends have an idea(to buy more weed) but I have a question.
We're going to go as a group and donate plasma and receive $30 per person. I've been researching plasma donation on the web, and the guides tell you that you'll be asked about medical history, allergies, any disabilities, etc... but they also say you will be screened for drugs
Does this mean they'll test my blood for ALL major types of illegal drugs? Has anyone actually donated plasma before?
I mean.. this donation center is in Downtown.. so I'm hoping that they receive a good share of cracked out homeless people to not even care about THC in a suburban kids system. But I dunno...Aristotle Reviewed by Aristotle on . "Donating" Plasma Alright, me and a couple of my friends have an idea(to buy more weed) but I have a question. It may also depend on the place...but maybe they don't because it probably can't harm it. You should ask them specifically what they test for, I mean, you wont get arrested for that.

I would think they would test you for all kinds of drugs. Its a bodily fluid and they need to make sure its not contaminated (sp) because its going to be put in someone elses body. So I would assume that thye would decline anyones plasma that has any drugs or diseases detected in it. I dont know this for sure but that would be my guess.

I'm pretty sure thc is out of your blood in a couple of days or less anyway..I'll check.
Edit: Only a few hours according to this site.

So like..just don't smoke the day before? Assuming you're having to donate blood to buy it anyway, I'm figuring you wouldn't have any before a test.
second edit: You are a bitch.

If a person walked in a plasma donation center most of the people most likely people who are trying to get extra money some of the people they come across have smoked. From my research on this the main thing they test for is infectious agents including hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV, as well as testing for liver function most likely not THC or other drugs.

The best way to overcome your fear is to understand what happens during the donation process.
Plasma is collected through a process called "plasmapheresis." When you come in to donate, a needle is placed in your vein and your blood is pumped into a specialized spinning device that separates the plasma from the other whole blood components, such as red and white blood cells and platelets. While the plasma is collected, the other blood components are filtered into a reservoir. Once the reservoir is full, your red and white blood cells and platelets are returned to your body.
Throughout the process, the system automatically alternates between collection and replacement until the predetermined amount of plasma, based on your weight, is obtained.
The tubing and all other collection supplies that come in contact with your blood are discarded and replaced with new, sterile materials each time a donation procedure is performed.
