That shit is so annoying, I respect legit names like AK 47 (and that shit has to look and smell like serious seeds AK47) Some motherfucker tried to tell me he had an O of Sour Diesel Haze and all it was some standard ass low grade mids.

Personally, I think it's rather annoying to hear the word 'Dro' as a strain name. I get it all the time when I ask what they're trying to sell me is.

Tell me your joking? WR is a real strain, and so is White Widow... infact, WR is a cross of WW.

WR is one of the best medicinal strains around, with a HEAVEY motherfucking indica stone, and im going to be growing some outside next year, while i have HOG growing inside.

Strains really have little meaning and they are almost impossible to distinguish unless you are buying the seeds and growing them yourself.. thats prob the only possible time you are certain of the strain of the bud you are smoking. Its quite common for dealers to just call the bud they have by whatever strain name they either heard of or some fancy name by what it looks or smells like. Doesent mean it still cant be amazing bud, but you cant always believe or judge the strains you are getting are what the dealer says they are. It could have changed names as it changed hands for all you know.

M-39 is a strain but the others sound made up. M-39 is a fairly popular commercial weed strain in Canada I think. I'm a bit dubous about strains obviously if a plant has good genetics its going to help a lot but I don't like the idea of the sort of Branding it gives to Cannabis. ie people going to amsterdam and getting White Widdow cos its the only 'brand' they have heard of. I find it sad cos stoner culture is supposed to be anti-materialistic.

My personal biggest 2 pet peeves are:
1) calling stuff 'dro' as if it's a strain, not a growing method
2) calling any lavender-colored bud 'purple haze'. Oh pleeeeeeze.

Even a breeder shouldn't name a new strain until he or she is certain that it is an ORIGINAL cross, has UNIQUE characteristics, and really should be stabilizeable/replicable through their own breeding. One good 'fluke' plant isn't really a strain, it's a lucky fluke. The clone-only strains like TRUE Thunderfuck are kind of the exception since the cuttings have proliferated so much and lots of people can grow the same plant.

Yeah, I had an old friend sell me some "purple haze" a few weeks ago, it was really good headies, but it wasn't even purple...

As such, I hold my ground that purple haze is a fictional strain. I told him to stop being a dick to the newbies he sells the "purple haze" to, and stop making up names for his weed. Next thing ya know, he'll be selling green buds as WW...

But it was good.
