but do you honestly think hitting a child is going to keep them from doing wrong? i wasn't spanked or hit growing up, my grandma didn't believe in it... i grew up to be a pretty respectable person, about the only thing i actually constantly do that's 'wrong' is smoke weed... i had friends who grew up getting hit/spanked/beat by their parents... lets just say none of them turned out to well..

like i said, if that's not what you're getting at then ignore this post, but that's the only thing i can think that the goverment prohibits the parent from doing to their kid.
