    How many plants per light

Ok, I have tried the search and the FAQ and I might be an idiot but I can't seem to find an answer. I have 2 1000k switchable lights. What I want to know is what is the best number of plants to put under these babies. I grow soiless with sunshine #4, 5 gallon pots and my room measures 10 x 8 x 8.. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Depends on a lot of factors..

BUT you can grow 10-20 plants and harvest 3-6 pound every 70 - 80 days...

You will need to control your climate and incorporate C02 enrichment into your grow area. It is increasingly time consuming once your garden goes over 10 plants.

You can also stick to 4-10 plants.. Vegg them a bit longer and harvest 1-3 pounds.. there will be a lot less maintenace and worry with a garden this size..

Depends on how long you want to veg them. Consider you have about a 4x4 area of good coverage under each lamp. You can fit at least 16 in smaller pots and veg for a short period of time or you can use the 5gal and fit about 8-10, vegging them longer. I've seen 50-60 clones done in plastic cups w/ no veg under 1 lamp, so it's really a personal preference.

Cannabis doesn't really like to be crowded and will grow bigger buds if given more space around the plant. However, total yield will be slightly more with high numbers of plants spaced closely together. But, that means more work and more trouble should you get pinched.

So, your choice. More and smaller, or less and bigger.

Another way to figure it out is I have read that if you want any decent yeild or bud, you need at least 50W of lighting per.sq.ft.

That might help you out a bit.

    Good luck.

    How many plants per light

thanks for all of the advice. I guess I should have been a little more clear. Right now I am using one light for veg and one for flower, I had 18 plants from seed and ended up with 8 females there is plenty of room for just 8 plants. My problems arises that I have this beautiful 1000w light and ballast with vented hood just sitting there collecting dust. I took 30 cuttings from the females and have 25 that are gonna make it "fingers crossed" I don't need the 1000 w MH I figured out so I want to just use the lights for flowering and increase the size of my flowering room. once agian you guys rock and thanks for the advice.

I saw a room a couple weeks back.. It had 13 plants.. with 3000 watts. They vegged for 4 weeks (from rooted clones) and they got 6lbs.. (they were planning to veg for 6 weeks.. but the plants got to big!!!
    The room had...
    3 - 1000 watt HPS bulbs
    CO2
13 FILL and DRAIN BUCKETS (50 gallon reservoir)

I also recently saw a room with 2000 watts that harvests consistently 4-6 lbs... it has 18 plants... The grower frequents this site.. maybe he will share his info.. If not... it will be in the next DVD coming out in march.. lol.. ILOVEYOU

How are you doing Buster.. nice to SEE you!!

    love
