how can i lose a few lbs?

When you start to watch what you eat, and when you exercise, you really lose a big chunk of that munchie appetite. For example, I used to drink coke, at least 24 oz a day. After I lost a good amount of weight and started eating well (drank almost just water), I didn't crave coke at all. There's a lot of junk type food I used to love, now I don't really give a shit if it doesn't exist, I never really want it. I never think about it anymore, it's really amazing. I used to look forward to desert after any meal, now I don't have desert at all, and it doesn't bother me.
So, if you're cringing after reading this, trust me, it's not like you take it away from yourself like that, it's just, after time, you don't have a desire for it and you stop getting it. If that's hard to look at, here's the upside: Cooking. Cooking is NOT hard despite what some people may say. It's fun. It really allows you to be creative. When you shop for groceries, you start really thinking what you need to buy to make whatever. I spend the most time shopping in the produce section, there's so much there, you can make so many different healthy meals from it.
Cooking, if you've never really done it before, can be intimidating at first. But just start off small and simple. Gradually try out different things, step it up every now and then, here and there. Be healthy with it, and be creative. You want a good tip? Take prepackaged type meal items as ideas. If you know you like something, like say a box of bean and rice mix, then try making it from scratch. Try adding vegetables that will compliment other parts of the meal. Screw around with it. It's good practice and you'll get the hang of it eventually. A lot of people really give up on the diet part too easily because everything the eat is so bland. Use this as an opportunity to cook, or learn to if you haven't, and you can make meals that you really look forward to.
Well, good luck with it.
