Leaves are burnt... what to do?

I had my month old plant 18 inches under my 400watt MH, and this morning i found a few leaves on the top of the plant got pretty burnt.. i took it out from under there and put it under 2 26 watt Cfls... should i cut off the dried and burnt leaves? or do i just let it try and heal itself? also... how high can i put my 400 watt so that it wont burn my plants?

PUT IT HIGH ENOUGH THAT THE BACK OF YOUR HAND IS COMFORTABLE WHEN PLACED AT CANOPY TOP LEVEL.

TOO HOT FOR YOUR HAND, TOO HOT FOR YOUR BABIES.

    GOOD LUCK

THE BURNT LEAVES WON'T HEAL THEMSELVES. TRIM EM UP.

my plants still pretty young... will cutting the leaves harm it? do i just cut the burnt parts of the leaf off, or the whole leaf? Also, whats the highest you can put your light without it being inefficient?

Just snip the burnt pieces off.
Strange that they got burned. People usually try to stay between 30 - 50cm.
However, if you check out HID's on vegetable grower sites, they often talk about 2 - 3 feet. I think perhaps Ganja farming is a little more of an extreme sport than growing cucumbers.

Yes, that sounds a lot. Theres a whole mathematical formula for Lux drop off, but I don't know it off by heart. Something like the drop off difference between 12" and 24" is 4 times or something. I suspect that at 2 ½' you may get more lux with a 250HPS at 12".

    I have my 400 HPS at 35cm, or 12 ½".

I'd like to get it even closer but 27-28C is as high as I want to go.

i'm keeping some clones under 2 400w mh's and my lights are two feet away. they love it, nodes are realy close, no stretching...

2 ft works for me, but only covers 4'x4'...

Leaves are burnt... what to do?

well my plants not that big.. it looks like this http://boards.cannabis.com/attachmen...3&d=1164375107 xcept the leaves are a bit smaller.. its the top 6 leaves that got burnt (not the whole leaf, just around the edges) i snipped off the burnt edges yesterday, and today they seem to be doing a little worse... the edges have gotten browner.... should i just leave it alone? i havent fed it any nutrients yet, would this help healing my leaves? thanks

leave it alone, give it a little water (spray bottle if possible - - - away from the lights)

it wants to live more than you want it to.
remember, an animal can eat a pot plant, shit the seeds, and a beautiful plant will grow. look around, some people have done some really supid things on here. one guy is even praising urinating on his plant (not hatin', holmes, just think it's weird)

take some pics and let us see what's up. if it doesn't heal in 3 or 4 days, it may be infected. keep your humidity below 50% for those 4 days.

    peace
