Thanks for underestimating my age, lol. If I didn't have salt and pepper hair, I'd probably pass for about 38 - but if I lied and said I was 40ish, many people would believe it. When I tell people that I'm in my early 50's, especially people around my age, they are almost always surprised because they thought that I was much younger than them.

To some young people (not necessarily you, slipknot), anybody that's over 35 is ancient. Walking behind people in the street, I usually pass them - even much, much younger people are slower than I am. I live very much the same way I did in my 20's - although I've got more bread now, lol. I'm also healthier, for other reasons.

My advice to the younger people: Save your pennies, don't live too extravagantly, think creativly, be original, and have fun - not necessarily in that order.
lol i consider 80+ ancient, honestly. cuz you're lucky if you live that long anymore, lucky or you just did right in your life (not smoking, not drinking, keeping healthy all-around) 50 is mid life, it's your prime (tho some will argue it's late 30's-early 40's) it's when you know the most of the knowledge you'll know when you go to the grave, yet, age hasn't taken a great toll on you and you can still move and do things a younger person can, tho maybe not quite as much, or do the things as hard.... you can still do mostly everything the younger ones can.... it's when everything really starts to click together.... "age is just a number" is pretty true, i mean of course, it doesn't hold true to EVERYTHING, but at this age, you can still compete, on a phsycial level, with everyone else.... and i said it before, grey hair means nothing, NOTHING! lol.... i personally feel, the only reason grey hair is 'bad' is because it's a sign you're getting older, and nearly everyone at late 20's to early 30's starts to fear getting older.... so inadvertantly, grey hair becomes a 'bad thing'.... i look at someone with grey hair, and mostly i see a wise person, someone who 'knows their shit' who's been through quite a lot.... and has wisdom to offer.... if i had the choice between turning to same person at age 25, or 50, with everyday problems, it'd be the latter.. i've never understood why so many people over look 'the old', and still don't to this day (altho to be fair, the same goes for younger people, they can offer alot too, age doesn't nessicarily dictate knowledge)..... i've actually had quite a few 'old' friends... by old i mean people in their 30's to their 40's but this was back before i was 14.... (and no, no perverted shit was ever brought up, or signified in any way )
