****Ghetto Rigged MH or MV light****

SO i stole this light form an old abandoned post that hadnt been used in ages. I THINK it still works. I'm not sure if its a MH or a MV. Probably MV because they are cheaper and are good for outdoor lighting like that. The bulb was broken so i tossed it. It'smade for a 175W bulb and I plan on going to buy that tomorrow. But I tore it all apart, rigged up the wires, and now i really dont know what to do... I Put the Black wire to the black wire, the orange wire to the white wire, and the green wire left on the extension cord i just left unconnected to anything. Will this work? and BTW, Holy shit its so heavy.. And i don't know how to get it out of its metal case to rig it up. HELP ME!

bin it its a piece of crap you will end up burning the house down or get an electrician to have a look at it

The black wire is the power and the white is the conmon or neutral and the green is the ground wire.Black wire to the switch from the switch to the black wire of the light.The white wire to the white wire and the green wire to the metal houseing of the light.The green wire is very importion,it is the ground.Just in case the light shorts out it will pop the breaker and not shock
the hell out of you or kill you. Hopes this helps.
P.S. this wiring in the usa 120 voit ac

after you wire this light plug it in out side and run it for a few hours before you put it in the grow room.you dont know what it will do catch fire or not even work at all. Be safty minded any how.out side first for the test.

You shouldent steal, you could of gotten shocked, or arested, i had a stupid fried ask about that on here befor, I asked the matenence guy in my apartments for 1 and i payed him 5 bucks. thats the way to do it, i rewired mine, there were only 2 wires AC and DC i conneted them using a Vacume Cleaner cord and its works great, i wouldent know how to wire one of thoes, looks like a street light.

yea, wire that up to another power cord, with 2 prongs not 3, attatch black to black white to white. and make some sort of housing for that ballast.

Mine is Metal Halide only 70 watts, i have two 4 foot floros and 2 CFLs with reflectors, im using them in veg rite now.
