Proper way to light a bowl

I've heard that alot of the THC gets burnt away on the first hit, so what I do is hold the lighter about an inch above the bowl I'm lighting. Than I slowly inhale allowing the weed to slowly light up, It's sorta like a vapor hit where you let it heat-up gradually so you don't burn away most of the THC on the first hit. Also hitting one half the bowl allows for a friend to get the fresh THC on the other side of the bowl, sometimes it'll make a ying-yang symbol hitting one half the bowl.:thumbsup:

This has been sort of fermenting in my mind lately.

What is the best way to light a bowl? When I'm hitting my bong I make sure to take it slow and now light the whole fucker at once. Suggestions or tips out there? Rating: 5
