For those in relationships, how do you balance holiday's.
This is the first year that my girlfriend and I have been living together, so this is the first time we will have to deal with this issue. We realized we were going to have a problem a couple months ago, and tried to plan in advance. Things actually worked out really well. Both of our familys get along very well, and understood that we needed to spend time with everyone.
We are going to her moms (about 2 hours from our house) on thanksgiving for a lunch-type celebration, then at 4 we are driving 100 miles back towards home for a Thankgiving dinner with my parents. On friday we are driving back towards her moms house again for another thanksgiving dinner with other family. We are going to be full all weekend.
Christmas is even more drivi... Oh I mean fun. Christmas is going to be even more fun! Christmas is on a Monday this year. Her family does more of a Christmas eve dinner. So we are driving out to Las Vegas (over a 6 hour drive) on friday and staying for the weekend. Then we are driving home to my parents on Christmas eve at like 2 in the morning. We should make it there with time to catch at least a couple hours of sleep. Then we are waking up to do Christmas with my family. After that we are driving back to the valley to see more family for a Christmas brunch.

My girlfriend and I both talked to our parents today to see what was going on for thanksgiving and both asked if we would both be going. I told my mom it depends on what her family is doing. She said her mom asked the same thing, and they both sounded a little confused as to why we wouldn't both be there. Do they forget she has parents? Anyway, I'm wondering how others Rating: 5
