For those in relationships, how do you balance holiday's.

My boyfriend and I do not have enough money to celebrate the holidays. So we just aren't going to..which is okay because neither of our families are super uptight about holidays.
It is kind of lame though because I would love to invite his family over for thanksgiving but his family is all SOBER now because of past substance problems..and my family is full of alcoholics.

So pretty much we will never have a Holiday together.
Oh well though, I still love them all!

We don't have enough money either, but my family would flip if I didn't appear on Thanksgiving. Your situation sounds a lot like mine, one side loves to drink, the other is the uptight christian type.
