HOW SAFE IS THIS SITE?
Mr berry you always say it like it is so a massive BIG UP for that one, see i don't want to offend anyone ,but i know the lengths these slimy bastards over here will go to to get a glittering carreer in the pig pen, but with all this Terrorism shite going on at the moment i think a small time, one plant man aint gonna shit on their parade, so i'll take solitude in that. But hey like someone said earlier PARANOA keeps me safe. Who the hells clark williams theres got to be a story behind that?

hey shauneyboy - dont worry about Mr Williams - I was just making a point about how 'safe' the board is if you're not careful. You never know, he might reply and then I can tell him how to keep safe on the internet
I'll might give him a call if he don't reply, or maybe send him a christmas card now that I've got his postal address too. LOL.

HOW SAFE IS THIS SITE?
well, im of the opinion that personally, ( i grow between 5-8 plants at a time)
they dont really care, im a financially independant person who pays taxes and dosent go round selling drugs to kids, stealing car stereos, terroising neighbourhoods and raping old ladies.
that makes me very low priority for a start. even if i was to get busted, i would hold my hands up and say hey, im not going to feed the local criminals £100 a month so i can have a smoke, so i grow a small number of plants for my own use.
anyway to my point....
i know theres been a lot of interest in internet privacy, but if your sensile how you post, and dont give away personal details, in writing or accidently in pictures, its just not going to happen any more than you get locked up for downloading bit-torrents.
now what i am actually concerned about is this whole proxie thing,
most ISPs only keep a month or so's worth of search entries, and i for one, dont have a static IP anyway, so i dont care.
on the otherhand, an annonymous proxy provider will be catering for a lot of people with somthing to hide...thier search histories will be worth 10x10 of what any ISP's is worth, so if you were the DEA, who would you "lean" on?
also being in the uk, do you really think, even if you were that unlucky, the DEA phoned up your ISP for a trace, and your ISP would call the local plod? just on the off chance?
"so and so has been posting pics on a website" so what...
then all the freedom of speach and right to privacy comes into play
as much as i detest bureaucracy, it does have its benefits lol
even if you were absurdly unlucky and got busted, and sent down for a few weeks, you would have a nice compensation claim waiting for you when you got out, not to mention tens of thousands of pounds for selling the story to the tabloids.

DEA phoned up your ISP for a trace,
I worked for a mobile phone company in the late 90s and they regularly (every week) ran programs on call patterns to find suspected drug dealers phone numbers, they would then pass them on to the police.
The real belt and braces approach is to get on an anonymous proxy, from there visit another anonymous proxy, and then go to the site you wish to visit. make sure its HTTPS all the way - even though that can be decrypted in a couple of hours by governments. The worse thing that can happen is they'll think your a terrosist and come round and shoot you.

OK, so Mr Williams hasn't responded (can't say I blame him).
When someone says that a certain site is 'safe' I see that as a challange cos I know its not true.
One of the posters above was tracked down to their real name, home address and telephone number in about three minutes.
I do not use any techniques which are illegal or any fancy programs, I just use a few tools which are available to anyone.
here are some tips to keep your real identity a bit more anonymous.
1. always choose a new nickname when sigining up to any online service.
2. do not add any unnecessary information such as what country you're in or a 'my home page' address.
3. Never ever ever ever publish personal details ANYWHERE on the intrernet.
4. use a web proxy/anonymizer
I say this as a network security consultant with over two decades experience. There is no such thing as a safe web site.

Holy shit, just don't do naything illegal and you don't have to worry. Move to a state where you can get medicinal. Then you can grow all you like. In cities like SDan DIego, you are allowed 24 mature plants. If you have more than that, obviously you are not just growing for you. So most should have nothning to worry about.!:greenthumb:
