I've been married for 40 years to the same dude. We rarely fight, we toke a lot, we love and support each other. We have a partnership for life. And no, it hasn't always been easy. There have been rough spots, but we got through them. With marriage, there is a sense of security lacking in "just living together" lacks. Marriage feels like a warm coat on a cold day. I do advise that you wait at least 5 years before having kids (I waited almost 7), since men (and frequently women) are usually not ready for the heavy duty stress that having kids brings and you need the time to party and really get to know each other. A little secret for a long marriage- Be sure to say "I love you" (and mean it) every day. Marriage rocks!
