A gallon of water for those sized buckets isn't unreasonable, especially if it was up to 100+ degrees in there! Just don't water again until it is dry two inches down, about the length of your index finger. MJ likes to go from wet to dry, they don't like to stay wet, it kills their roots.
Your plants are definately suffering from the heat, MJ plants like it around 75-85 degrees, any warmer and you start to stress them out. Too much fluctuation and you risk stressing them to the point that they turn hermie on ya, which isn't fun.
What ferts do you have, and what are the N-P-K ratios? You should begin to fert in a couple days, after they have been allowed to recoup on their own, then you can start to urge them to grow again.
