Older Deftones is by far the best. More raw, more visceral, mo' betta. I saw them in concert at Germain a few years ago right when Puddle of Mudd was becoming popular with that smack my ass song. Puddle was the opener then the 'tones and Godsmack was the finale. Best concert ever save Puddle of Mudd they suck. I had front row center tickets and Chino jumped into the audience and did his signature scream about two inches from my face. My and my buddy helped him back over the railing. After that their roadies would bring out inflated balloons the members would inhale whatever was in the balloon and blow out a huge cloud of smoke that smelled like pot so I think they are a stoner band, maybe not stoner rock on the same level of Kyuss though.

BTW Godsmack puts on an amazing show and so does Deftones. I can't stand going to concerts where all they do is stand their with no emotion playing their instruments. I saw Weezer live and have not listened to them since.
