Go for it! When you save seeds from a good smoke, label the envelope with as much info as you have on them. Grow them all out at the same time. If you get a male from bud that was exceptional, use him to cross with on;y the very best females from all the seeds. Keep crossing males fromt he best smoke or from good qulaity seeds with the sweetest, best-producing females you get from growing out the offspring. It's a good way to eventually come up with a pretty unique set of genetics that is selected down to siut your particular growing conditions. Not a very scientific breeding method, but you will end up with some neat stuff. I've been doing that for the whole time I've grown and I've never ever seen or smoked bud that has an intense orange flavor, but out of nowhere suddenly I'm getting these smelly plants that reek of cheap orange soda!
