First grow first log using bagseed and CFL's

alright fillled them up with soil.. just wondering what does this do besides make the stem shorter? does it make roots come out from the stem or anything?
agenttnk Reviewed by agenttnk on . First grow first log using bagseed and CFL's hey this is my first grow and im using 6 30watt Cfl's 2600 lumens each. The seeds are from some pretty good bud i got a while ago. The cabinet is 2x1.5x3 feet and i used flat white paint on all the walls. I plan on vegging for about 3 weeks and then putting it into flower. I havent watered them since the first time i put them in the soil which is 4 days from now.. cause i read somehwere you want the roots to stretch to look for water. I might water a little tomorrow. Any advice is welcomed Rating: 5

Hey Agenttnk, Check out my thread, were pretty close to age's plant-wise. Except yours are looking very small, unless those cups are rather large.

Im on about week 2 or halfway through week 2.

Well after reading over the thread it doesn't seem like you were over watering, which was my first thought so my next wild guess would be soil and /or Ph. What soil are you using? Is it pre-fertilized? Those pots have drainage, right??

I have started seedlings in soil that was too hot, too rich for young seedlings and its essentially the same as nute burn....stunted growth, yellowing leaves, etc. Even some organic soil is too rich for some strains. Now I just start in seedling soil or Fox Farms Light Warrior.

Not saying thats your issue, but it does have similarities to what I have experienced.

    Good luck!

    Hey agenttnk

When you grow from a seed, the plant won't flower until it is mature enough to do so. It's not mature enough until the nodes start to alternate. Node is just the name for the junction of the petioles (leaf stem) and the axial (main stem). Look at how the leaves are growing. They come out in pairs with each pair opposed roughly 90 degrees from the last pair. When it gets mature enough to flower the leaves won't be in pairs anymore they will grow out staggered like 1 on the left side then 1 on the right side (alternating) then 1 in the front and so on. When you see that then you can change the light timing to 12 on & 12 off so they reveal their sex. The females get buds and the males get moved out or mulched unless you want seeds. But unless they're mature 12 on & 12 off won't do anything but slow down the growth and make it take longer. Good growing with ya
