Im un-orthodox, and i love sausages...

I wasn't born a Jew. I was adopted by a Jewish family and raised a Jewess.
Myy dads parents we basically reformed and my moms parents were Orthadox, my grandfathers older brother was a Rabbi as well as an MD. My dad was an MD as well.
Now, my brother and his family are almost Orthadox while I married a goy (lol) and am reformed. lol
Infact, the family prolly does the spins when I decorate for my husband and the kiddles for Easter and Christmas. lol
I still can't get into ham tho. I don't know if it's the cloven feet or that they are just dnrned cute.

I'd love to have a wealthy Jewish neighbor. Who constantly let me smoke weed and borrow cash without paying them back. Damn that is like the perfect neighbor.

That is true. A baby born to a Jewish mother and a non Jewish father is automatically considered Jewish. Not so with just a Jewish father.

But, I'm sure you get the best of both worlds. I hope you do. Passover at the dads parents?

also if you're jewish and never went to israel and over the age of 18 theres a thing thats called birthright they'll take you there for free and pay for your hotel

I'd love to go back. I'll think about it. Maybe I'll pretend i haven't since I was very young when I first went.

oh yeah....i forgot.....to answer some things that were mentioned..

1. you are only jewish if your mother is jewish..it is fathers name mothers blood, by jewish law..and not only that, but you have to convert if your mom isnt jewish and are the lowest on the caste scale as there are 3 levels of jews and your level distinguishes your honours and priviledges within the synagogue..

2. why do people think you have to look a certain way to be a jew? i have seen lots of christians with big noses and dark curly hair..i have seen blonde hair and blue eyed jews..i think people confuse this with sabra's, or israeli's, who have these features, which are regional really..

Well, there are always the Spanish Jews that don't "look typical". Blonde or redheaded brown haired.

I was born in NYC to a Jewish dad and an Italian Catholic mom. So I'm not a Jew since jewish blood flows maternal, not paternal. Although, my family would often go to other Jewish family friend's houses for holidays i.e. Yom Kippur, Roshoshana (please forgive me if I misspelled them). And my dad made great knishes, blintzes, and kasha vinushka.

Also, one of my best friends, Adam, is a Jew. Adam has a big picture of Sandy Koufax (Jewish pitcher) in his house. And even though Adam's a yankees fan (I HATE the fagyankees) Adam likes my beloved Mets just a little now because they got Shawn Green (Jewish outfielder). Adam and I watch just about every NY Islanders game and smoke bowls every time the Islanders score.:stoned: It was great they beat the hated rangers last night with 7 goals!!!!

And just like all of my Jewish friends, I love Chinese food!

Excellent post and you are right on about the Chinese food. Every Sunday was a night out on ChinaTown and we loved it!
One day I may tell what we did for my wedding. lol
