About $250 for that, although they have smaller capacities too. Add a subscription to Yahoo Music to that for like $60/year or whatever and that's a nice present for anyone.

Does he like photography? If so, how about a digital camera? I recommend Canons, and they have some affordable point-and-clicks that are quite nice. $250-$400 for that, but that's a gift that has lots of reusability, not something you use once then forget about.

Interested in astronomy? Some cool telescopes out there! Prices vary wildly, but you tend to get what you pay for. Not as much reusability as some of the other ideas, but if your son loves astronomy then that'd have some 'wow' to it.

A nice bicycle is always a great present for a boy of that age, if he doesn't have a nice one. TONS of reusability with bikes. Boys don't get tired of bikes (until they start asking for cars anyway).

New pair of good headphones, a nice cellphone, a survivalist-type watch with a thermometer and built-in compass, a Wii or PS3 or X-Box 360, wireless keyboard and mouse -- a few more ideas. Kids sure got a lot better choices for presents than they used to!

Well put, I'm sure he'll find something of his insterests in there.
