    Seeds not Germinating

Hi, finally seemed to take forever before I could post! lol atleast an hour. Anyway I got some seeds from some good stuff from a friend back home and I can't seem to get them to germinate. I read somewhere that the seeds need a cold period? Anyway I have never had this problem before any advice would be great. Also first time I have grown them during winter. So it is colder in the house.

Thanks, any advice is greatly appreciated.

Some are dark green and some are light. I did many in several batches. First was in tissue between plates steril water. No results. Second was in pot plants which I have never had problems before. No results. Third was with some fert and between plates with damp rags. No results. So that is why I was thinking about the freeze thing. This was some really fresh stuff. ; )

never heard of using a freezer, maybe someone knows if thats a method or not, but that sucks, i belive seeds are best if there a brown/darker colors, i belive i read that on here and in a book. but mine started afgter 24 hours, i put them between 2 paper towels, put in a baggy, put on my modem with a towel over to keep it dark

Well since it was some really fresh stuff I think I was over anxious. I think you need to freeze them so some acid will be pushed out of the seeds. Not real sure but read it somewhere. Thanks

I don't think it was, if you mean like pressed in a block from a trash compacter or whatever. This stuff was probably the best I have ever had and it was very smooth. Great but I was stupified. Yeah Im one of those, atleast for the first five minutes. Damn brain cells ain't what they used ot be.

    this is true..

what i did, since i just germinated and still going through the process(not all have popped out yet), but i tried one way that i knew worked because its what i did with my last plant(which i killed.. shit happens..), anyway what i did was just fill a bowl with water and drop the seeds in, put some dark cloth over it to hide from light, the ones that germ will sink to the bottom in like two days and have little tails poppin out ready to be planted..

other thing i did, for a first time was plant the seed directly in soil and put some wrap over the container and hold with a rubber band to create humidity, took 4 days and i have a sprout.. its so far to me the fastest way to do it, but you have to pick and choose the seeds to make sure they are the right color, since im kinda color blind i cant tell you what the right color is kinda dark green i guess.. but i know if they are right and if they arent, just add a bulb not too close, but close enough in winter time to keep it warm..

    good luck
