    LITTLLE FLYS?!?!?!

I had 3 random bc strain seeds germing, and they popped, so I put them in the new grow room, under 2 24watt flours (have 2 48"'s on the way and a 1000 hps) as i also have 10 feminized duthc passions on the way.

anyways, I noticed theres a couple TINY TINY little flies chillin in the soil. Im just wondering if this is normal, and if there going to hurt this grow? Thanks

    LITTLLE FLYS?!?!?!

i had flies b4. I put in some yellow sticky strips and wa-lah- soon enough, no more flies. It's a lot better than using some chemical to kill 'em.

true, I might have to try that. The only thing though, is these arent your regular kinda flies, these things are TINY, remind me of fruit flies actually.

sounds like fungal gnats, i had them once and the spray i use is an organic spray containing pyrethins, printed on the bottle and i even heard it on the grow report that its safe to use up to days before harvest.

ya defintly reminding me of gnats. ill try that, although these 3 havent even sprouted yet, so i dont wanna use a bug killer yet, unless someone lets me know if its a safe idea or not.

If they haven't sprouted you are at least in a position where you can't ruin what you got or have wasted too much time. What soil are you using cause i've heard that re-using old soil or non-sterile soil is what causes this. Being that the pyrethins evaporates away quickly would make me think that you should be ok to spray and personally i'd probably try it. Hopefully one of the pros on here can step in and correct me if im wrong.

I had the same problem with the little flies when I put my three plants to flower. Got some Orange TKO organic stuff we have for cleaning and shooing away the ants. Works well. Just dilute 1/2 teaspoon per 24 oz. spray bottle. You can mist the leaves and the soil around the plant without hurting it, and might even be beneficial, seeing as its organic and comes from orange peels. I spray the soil each time I feed or water. Haven't seen any flies since I began doing this. Good luck. :smokin:

    LITTLLE FLYS?!?!?!

ive benn dealing with gnats for the last month now. i got some insecticidal soap. its kills the gnats but not the larva, which live in the soil and eat your roots. today i transplanted my plant into different soil and covered the top of my soil with sand. seems to be working much better than the soap.
