allso your buds will put on the most weight on the last few weeks of there life.. so dont harvest too early.. as some1 else said if your top buds are ready but the bottom ones aint.. you can just snip off the ready buds and move the light abit closer to the bottom of the plant(s) n let them buds fatten up more... remember allso to flush your soil 1-2weeks prior to harvesting.. to do this simply pour like 5x the amount of water you would norm use through your soil.. or untill the water starts to come out nice and pure instead of yellow.. i recemend doing this inb the bath tub so water can easily flow through the pot and go straight down your plug n not on your floor.. in doing this you will be flushing all the salt build up out of your soil forcing your plants to use the last bit of food they have stored giving you a much cleaner nicer tasting bud then if you didnt flush..
