I hate to say it, but it's true. My brother went through that phase and I watched him every step of the way. He had 3 JL 12" subs in his trunk, a speaker in each door, 2 mids in the center, a Power Pump, a huge amp for his subs, another small Kenwood amp for his mids, CD player, and a bass cube. I admit, the bass cube thing was AWESOME. He'd pull on this little switch on this small cube, and the bass would amplify about 5x as much. He entered a contest and got 2nd place for most bass in all of Alberta.

His roof was rattling so much in the comp. that it started cracking. All in a K-car souped to the nuts with nice rims, nice inner, tinted windows...oh yeah, he was right into it man. It was fun to watch, but he only did it for a few years, spent about $2200 on stuff, and ended up selling it all for about $500 in the end. He got his money's worth though.

So much bass man. In a truck, 1 12" sub is more than enough. Get an amp and a mid. speaker in each door, and it will sound plenty good.
