Well, maybe you could get a scale, postal scales are cheap and within a gram of accuracy, then you could just be like "dude check out this scale I got, lets weigh your weed out with it". Just try to be more excited you have a scale, instead of that you doubted him to hook you up.

I've just never seen an ounce up close before, and since he can't measure for shit, i wanted to know if he gave me the right amount so i would know what an ounce looks like. got it? god fucking damn it. yeah, needless to say, i've come down since this afternoon...
